We find the gaps first. Then we close them, one topic at a time.

Tutoring in Maths, Science and English from KS1 to KS5. Every student starts with a free assessment, and every lesson after that is aimed at what they actually need.

How a student moves through Better Learning Hub

The same cycle for every child, at every key stage. Nobody moves on until the work shows they are ready.

    1. Free initial assessment

A carefully chosen set of questions covering the whole key stage, weighted by the national curriculum.

    2. Question-by-question analysis

We mark every question against its topic, so we see exactly where marks were lost, not just a total.

    3. A personal plan

Results become a Personal Learning Checklist. The weakest topics go to the top of the list.

    4. Topic by topic with a tutor

Each topic has a lesson-by-lesson plan. At the end, a check: 75% to move on to the next topic.

    5. Ready for the next stage

With every topic done, the assessment is taken again. 90% to move up to the next key stage.

Below 50%: priority, re-teach with daily retrieval 50 to 79%: review with targeted recap 80% and above: secure

Every session is built the same way

Our own printed workbooks follow one eight-part structure, so students know the shape of the lesson before it starts and can put their energy into the learning.

    1. Retrieval practiceRecall of earlier learning, so it sticks
    2. I do: watch the methodThe tutor models each step; the student annotates
    3. We do: togetherTutor and student work through questions side by side
    4. You do: on your ownSilent and unaided, the evidence for the checkpoint
    5. Independent practiceFluency across the full range of the objective
    6. Problem solvingApplying the idea in unfamiliar situations
    7. Exam-style questionsThe wording and marks students will meet in tests
    8. HomeworkShort, focused practice to finish the session

    Checks built into every lesson

3 / 3Tutor checkpoint before independent work. Anything less and we re-teach before moving on.
    4 / 5Progression check to pass the session, with a sticker for a full 5 / 5.
SelfA student checkpoint where they rate their own confidence.

      What we collect

When you register your interest we collect the details you type into the form: your name, your email address and phone number, the student's name if you give it, their year group, the subjects you are interested in, and anything you write in the message box.

      Why we collect it

We use these details only to reply to your enquiry and arrange a free initial assessment. We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the box on the form, and on taking steps you have asked for before you decide whether to book tutoring. We will not use your details for marketing or sell them to anyone.

      Who else handles it

      • FormSubmit, a service that passes form entries to our email inbox. It may process data outside the UK.
      • Our email provider, where your enquiry is stored.
      • WhatsApp, only if you choose to send us your details that way.

      Children

If you are under 16, please ask a parent or carer to fill in the form for you. We only ask for the information about a student that we need to arrange their assessment.

      How long we keep it

If you do not go on to become a student, we delete your enquiry within 12 months. If you do, we keep your details for as long as we are tutoring you and delete them afterwards.

      Your rights

You can ask to see the information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or withdraw your consent at any time by emailing info@betterlearninghub.com. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
